Sauna Care Guide: Keep Your Sauna Fresh, Safe, and Long-Lasting!

Aug.15.2026

Many customers focus on choosing a high-quality sauna but are often unsure how to properly maintain it after installation. Regular care and correct maintenance are essential for preserving the natural beauty of solid wood, ensuring stable performance, and extending the service life of your sauna cabin.

With simple daily maintenance, proper ventilation, and regular inspections, your sauna can maintain a clean, comfortable, and relaxing environment while providing a better wellness experience for years to come.

Ventilation After Use

After each sauna session, keep the door open for 15–30 minutes to release heat and moisture. Proper ventilation helps prevent excessive humidity, protects the wood structure, and maintains a fresh indoor environment.

Clean the Solid Wood Surface Regularly

Use a soft dry cloth to remove dust and daily stains. For sweat marks, clean gently with a slightly damp cloth and dry the surface immediately. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or strong detergents that may damage the natural wood.

Protect Sauna Benches and Floor

Use towels on the seating area to reduce direct contact between sweat and wood surfaces. Clean benches and floors regularly to prevent long-term accumulation of moisture and residue.

Maintain Infrared Heating System

Do not spray water directly onto infrared heating panels or electrical components. Keep the heating area unobstructed and regularly check the power cable, controller, and connections to ensure safe operation.

Glass Door & Hardware Care

Natural wood may gradually develop a deeper tone or slight color variation after prolonged exposure to heat. This is a normal characteristic of natural materials.

For additional protection, use professional sauna wood care products when necessary. Avoid applying regular paint or furniture coatings that may affect wood breathability.

If the sauna will not be used for an extended period:

  • Disconnect the power supply.
  • Clean and dry the interior.
  • Keep the door slightly open for ventilation.
  • Check electrical components before restarting.
